So, on a good note, I am now officially graduated from Brown Mackie College....but now I'm looking for a job. Well, at least step one is done. On a worse note, I woke up yesterday morning to find Dad at home....and no water...at all. So I find out Dad is staying home because we have no heat coming from the furnace. We call Gibson's and they come and do an inspection. So we find out that when Korte put in our current furnace in, they installed it incorectly. It has been rusting from the heating element out. So now I've been up since 7 AM waiting for the furnace man to come and put in a new furnace. We've had all of our heaters and out gas fireplace running. I don't know why but Loki has been bound and determined to stand right by the fire screen. Anth and I burned our hands picking him up last night. We kept expecting sometime during the night to hear a cat screaming as he burst into flames. But, being home has given me the opportunity to clean up because Anth's friend Jacoby is moving in with us. So while I've been cleaning, I've been watching Farscape, and have loved it. Well, I must leave this note now, as the furnace man has called he's on his way. Time to figure out how to turn off the fireplace...without burning the house down. Everybody, don't forget that Joss Whedon's new show, Dollhouse, premieres tonight on Fox at 9:00 PM.

So, some of you may remember about 6+ months ago, I badly screwed up my ankle taking a small tumble from the sidewalk. Well, on Monday, I was leaving the house to go GM an Arcanis game. I stepped off the bottom step onto a frozen rug. I hit it at exactly the right angle and snap, crackle, pop, I tore the muscle all along the ankle again. I managed to crawl up the steps, unlock, the door, and crawl back to the living room. I now realized that calling my mother bawling from the pain and frantically saying I broke my ankle was probably not the best way to handle things. Well, once mom got home, she established that it wasn't broken, but I probably re-tore the muscle. Now, its swelled 3 times bigger than last time, I can't put weight on it, and it hurts soooo bad. So, because I epic fail at using the crutches, I am now crawling to the places I need to go. So, yeah, Merry Xmas to me...here's an f-uped ankle....sigh.. Gah, I'll post an update tommorow.

Hahaha. Okay so my brother and dad both bought new copies of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3. We haven't really been following the game but wanted to pick it up. Imagine our surprise and thrill when we final install it and who shows up in the intro video? Tim motherf-ing Curry. Yeah that's right he plays their Soviet leader dude (and he kills Einstein, yeah he's that B-A). Now the game can suck, but as long as he is in the cut scenes, we'll keep beating the levels to see him.
On another fun note, a friend sent me the soundtrack to REPO! The Genetic Opera. It's awesome! My little bro is even singing to it. I wish the movie would come out on wide release but for now, it's only showing in a few places. Also, I'm looking at creating a Vampire character since we may be starting a group up here. I'll be posting ideas later. On a more fun note, I'll be ending my posts now w/ a funny picture and story.

Thanks, dude in bed 8! I’ve always wanted to be judged for my sins, it sounds like fun. Do you get to relive them? Hope the PCP wears off quick because that whole satanic preacher gig just doesn’t suit you.

Gah. I hate technology. So, soon after I posted my last journal, my computer got attacked by a nasty little virus/spyware. I couldn't do anything with my computer. Had to reinstall windows several times, but I think my dad has it mostly sorted out *crosses fingers*. So, now I get to play catchup with adrian things because all the files I needed were on my computer....damn frickin viruses. So, on a better note, I can now breathe out of both nostrils, though the stitches are irrating the hell out of my nose. It's weird to hear the sound of air flowing into my sinuses....it freaks me out sometimes. On a worse note, showed up to my externship Tuesday...only to find another student working there. Yeah so I can't do my externship there and now I'm scrambling to find another site....*sigh* Yeah so not fun. I'll get through this somehow....to quote one of my favorite web cartoons "I can make it on my own". For those who don't know, google strongbad+little brother.

Oh god. So I finally got that surgery on my nose last Friday....and when I was warned recovery was not going to be fun, they weren't kidding. So first off, I'm sitting in the recovery area trying to communicate with the nurse, my mom, and grandma. (The fact I'm drugged out of my mind and have a throat all scratched up and nicks in my mouth from the breathing tube is not helping). Found out I had to be paralyzed to get the gorram tube into me in the first place because I was fighting it. Then, my tummy is a little wonky so they give me some Ritz crackers and Sierra Mist.........soon after I begin my love/hate relationship with the pink kidney bean shaped trays I got sent home with. I begin puking...violently. It's bad enough mom had to leave the room to get sick herself. All the basin is filled with is old blood and drainage. Turns out when they removed the two pea size polyp from my nose it had a lot of blood flow going to it. Said blood had only one place to go-stomach. So now I am so achy I don't wanna move, but it's time to leave the hospital and go home. So I make it home and start slurping on some gingerale when I proceed to vomit violently again. More blood and other junk comes up. So then, I fall asleep in my chair and am woken up by mom to try some chix noodle soup. So that goes well until about 10 min later when I vomit again. I'd like to point out that by now, I have vomited more times in one day then I had in the past 3 years combined. So finally, mom drags me upstairs to my room and gets me to go to sleep. This was day 1. I'll continue w/ day 2 later today.

So, I was supposed to have my surgery last Friday....unfortunately they did my blood sugar and it was too high for me to go under anthesia. So um now I have to readjust my meds, get things back under control, reschedule the surgery, and try to get it done in the next 2-3 weeks...before externship. Man, why can't things ever go smoothly. Right now I'm playing phone tag with the surgery scheduling department. Sigh.

So, I had my meeting with the ENT doc today...and got not fun news. I got to look at my CT scan of my sinuses. First, for those who don't know, the septum is a piece of cartilages that separates your nostrils. Ideally, it should be straight as can be......mine looks like the overhead view of a 40 mph curve. Curse hitting the cement face first when I was five! So then, we moved onto the sinuses. the ones in my cheekbones are almost completely clear....except for the polyp in the corner of my right sinus. That has to be removed. Then, we looked at the sinuses from the ethmoid (eye area) sinuses up. They are packed full. The other problem is, these sinuses have no windows (small channels where your sinuses naturally drain out). So now, I not only have to have my septum surgically straightened, I also have to have the polyp removed, my sinuses sucked out, and new windows put in....which might require holes drilled in the top of my mouth. So, this is full blown surgery (trach tube and everything). Because I have externship in Sept. and I want to make sure I get this while I'm still on mom's insurance, the happy event will take place in two weeks. Yay....nothing says happy birthday like major surgery...Ah well, I know this should fix a lot of my nasal problems and the sooner I get it over with, the sooner I can start breathing normally again.

Does anyone remember a commerical for a product called Wonderball? it was made by Disney and was a hollow chocolate ball that contained an assorment of sweet tart knock-offs in the shape Disney characters and sometimes had a cheap plastic toy. The song went something like this......
"Well I wonder, wonder, wonder, what's in a Wonderball may hide. Who knows what suprises a Wonderball may hide."
Well, I've found hell's version of a Wonderball. It is the boxes of empty glass candle holders I'm etching for my company. You know you're in trouble, when the pallet is dropped off, and the saran wrap is so tightly wound around the boxes, the boxes are caved in. I swear, I will now have nightmares about the sound of glass shards tinkling inside a cardboard box. Not only are the candles busting in the box, I also opened up a box today (mind you it was sealed)that had one empty spot. They didn't even pack the whole freakin thing full! I also opened two other boxes that had all the candles packed UPSIDE DOWN! Suffice to say, there was some problems with broken glass in there too. For some reason, when you pack glass on its weakest points, it doesn't survive that well. Well, at least I've been using a camera to document all these fun suprises. *Sigh* At least it's not our fault on this end.
There's one Wonderbox though that tops them all. The one side is completely caved in and is bowing outwards at the top. I haven't had the heart to open it yet.......though I swear it stares at me in the corner of the shop, waiting........

Man, I hate it when your alarm goes off in the middle of a dream. Gah, I am falling asleep here in my Medical computer class. I can only enter new patients into a data base so many times before I fall asleep. Ah well. The extra time I get in class allows me to work on some things I've been wanting to work. Well, X-mas is getting closer and I can't work up the urge to put up our tree. For some reason trying to touch up and punch out hundreds of ornaments at work kills the urge to do anything else with ornaments. Well, it's time to leave this classroom and head over to babysit some bengals. I'll try to take some pics with my phone and upload em here.

BubonicVermin: A Problem
It is evident that Supreme Cleave permits characters to move farther than they would ordinarily move during a round; perhaps much farther. It is not always obvious how much farther, though.
To illustrate, suppose that we have a character with a base attack of +16 or more, giving four attacks. Suppose further that this character has the Ambidexterity, Two Weapon Fighting, and Improved Two Weapon fighting, giving two attacks with his other arm [PHB p83]. Suppose further that this character is armed with two swords of Speed, which grant an extra attack each, bringing the total up to five attacks with one arm and three with the other [DMG p187].
To complete the picture, suppose that this fighter is going against a very large number of creatures that he can kill in one stroke; not unreasonable for a 16th level character, as goblins neatly fit. Suppose also that the fighter hits on a 2+ with each of his attacks; again, not unreasonable.
The fighter will hit and continue hitting as long as he does not roll a 1 on a d20; this is a geometric distribution and statistics tells us the number of expected hits is 20. With 8 attacks this is 160, so 160 goblins will die in six seconds. If the fighter has one level of cleric in a god of Luck, he can reroll one of those misses; so 180 goblins. With a 5' step between attacks, this character has moved 900' in those six seconds; this is an average speed of 102 mph.
This type of movement ignores encumbrance, terrain penalties, and wounds, so in fact a one legged man in extremely adverse conditions would be able to move the same 102 mph that an able man would.
Worse, this is from a standing start to a standing stop, so assuming the gentlest possible acceleration—a constant acceleration to the midpoint and then a constant deceleration—mechanics tells us that the character was moving at 200+ mph, and reached that speed in three seconds from 0 mph. He is also accelerating at 15.24 m/s2, which is almost 2 Gs of acceleration.
Yet another example of how D&D plus physic equals empty set....
